TORONTO - Canadian retailer Good For Her held its 3rd annual Feminist Porn Awards this past weekend at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto.
"It was a really great year," said Renee Pilgrim, technical director for the event. "We added a second night of screenings [at the Revue Cinema] due to audience demand, and we packed both houses. It was a huge success."
Big winners this year included transgendered performer Buck Angel, Vivid-Ed director Tristan Taormino, and BDSM maven Madison Young. Erika Lust who won Movie of the Year for Five Hot Stories for Her.
The Saturday night screening was followed by a panel discussion with four filmmakers: Morty Diamond (Trans Entities), Loree Erikson (Want), Erika Lust and Bren Rider of GoodDykePorn.com.
"People really enjoyed the films, and they really understood why we celebrate feminist porn," said Pilgrim. "We got lots of people calling in today and yesterday wanting to know more about where they can get hold of these films."
