Georgia Attorney General Joins Fight Against Adult Shop

Georgia Attorney Thurbert E. Baker has joined the fight to enforce an ordinance that would keep Floyd County’s only adult bookstore from operating in its current location.

Entice Adult Superstore filed a lawsuit against the county in August. According to the Rome News – Tribune, Baker has successfully requested “to be heard” on the issue and will file a brief within 45 days.

Baker will be acting as an interested party, and will be allowed to enter his opinion in the case in which he will support the county.

According to the report, Entice is challenging the Floyd County Commission’s ordinance restricting sexually oriented businesses. The store claimed the ordinance specifically targets it and is intended to put it out of business.

Floyd County filed a response in November, continued the report, claiming it was unaware of the nature of Entice’s business in the early stages of development.

According to the report, both sides are seeking summary judgment.
