Fifty-seven studios and 149 individual performers, directors, screenwriters, composers, and videographers from 115 movies have received nominations for the 2005 GAYVN Awards.
GAYVN is the Gay and Bisexual division of AVN magazine. It has presented awards for excellence in the Gay and Bisexual adult video industry for 19 years.
Titan Media leads the studios with a total of 27 nominations, while the single most nominated movie is Buckshot Productions' BuckleRoos 1-2 with 18. Buckshot is part of the Colt Studio Group which received 22 nominations overall.
Four new awards categories were added this year: Best Actor—Foreign Release, Best DVD Special Edition, Best Specialty Release—Bears, and Best Pro/Am Release.
The Best DVD category was dropped and the Best Video category was renamed Best Picture. "The Best DVD category was created several years ago to recognize achievement in a new medium. Now everything is on DVD which makes this category, essentially, a duplication of the Best Picture award," GAYVN Editor Doug Lawrence explained.
