LAS VEGAS - When Grammy-nominated rapper Flo Rida takes the stage during the 26th annual AVN Awards show, he will join a long list of talented performers who have entertained audiences during the "Oscars of Adult."
"We're extremely pleased that Flo Rida will be performing at this year's show," said Paul Fishbein, president of AVN Publications. "Since we started the Awards in 1983, the goal has been to make it as exciting and entertaining as any of the mainstream Hollywood awards shows; I think with adding a performance by Flo Rida to the mix you can see that we're making good on our vision."
Flo Rida joins top musicians like hip-hop star Chingy and indie rockers Buckcherry, who have performed at the annual star-studded AVN Awards. More than 8,000 fans from all over the world are expected to pack the venue this year.
The AVN Awards will take place Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Belladonna and Jenna Haze will co-host the event, and will be joined by comedienne Thea Vidale.
Flo Rida, born Tramar Dillard in Carol City, Fla., made a name for himself earlier this year with the release of his debut single "Low," which topped nearly every chart for 10 weeks. His album, Mail on Sunday, features performances and collaborations with Lil's Wayne, Yung Joc and Timbaland. Flo Rida was recently nominated for two Grammy awards.
Tickets are still available for the AVN Awards. Tickets priced at $240, $212, $159 and $107 are now on sale at the Mandalay Bay Events Center box office and at Ticketmaster locations (Smith's Food and Drug Centers, Macy's stores and Ritmo Latino).
