Production company FYA Independent has recently clarified its position with respect to its name usage and relationship with other companies in the business.
"After many months of confusion and other facts that came to light at the Adult Entertainment Expo, I realized I had to make my position clear," FYA Independent's Michael Bushler told AVN.com. "Although many consumers were under the impression that FYA Independent was associated with certain companies using the name Avalon, just as many in the business were also confused so I felt it was time to set the record straight."
Bushler said that his concern stemmed from several improper listings of the company's titles, attributing its movies to both FYA and Avalon.
"While we do have an exclusive distribution agreement with Avalon Global Media Enterprises," continued Bushler, "we have no association whatsoever with any other company who markets their products and services using the Avalon name. FYA Independent is aware and understands that Avalon Global also distributes some of its own in-house titles under the Avalon Global banner, but our relationship has nothing to do with that side of Avalon Global.
"Moreover, any other company in the video manufacturing/distribution business who represents their name, products and services with FYA Independent — whether Avalon or not — will not be tolerated.
"From here on out our company will actively monitor the media daily to make sure that everyone complies and properly represents our products and services," said Bushler. "I hope this clears up the confusion."
