Digital Playground has released its Pirates II teaser on the Internet. Production company founder and Pirates II director Joone told AVN.com that the teaser met with rave reviews during its debut at the 2007 Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas.
"We had such an amazing response to the teaser at AEE," said Joone. "So many people were coming up to me and asking, 'How can you make the second one even better?' And after watching the trailer, they were saying, 'wow, I can see how you've [done it].'"
Directed by Joone, Pirates II features what the company is calling "an all-star cast and state of the art animation, special effects and graphics." The title is scheduled to arrive in fall 2007.
"The effects are a thousand times better than the first one," continued Joone. "That was something I really wanted to show fans and buyers [at AEE]. Everybody knew that we were going to have great sex in there and contract stars and a great story. I wasn't trying to sell them on the sex…what I really wanted to show them is that we've made an even better movie.
"We have some really big expectations to live up to this time," said Joone. "Nobody really expected anything when the first one came out, but now we have to make something even better….and we've done it."
Shot on location in California and off the coast of Florida by Digital Playground and Adam & Eve, Pirates was released as an adult feature in September of 2005. It stars Jesse Jane, Carmen Luvana, Janine, Teagan Presley, Devon, Austyn Moore and Jenaveve Jolie. The title, which has remained on the AVN Top 50 Weekly Rental and Sales Chart for a record-breaking 66 weeks, swept the 2006 AVN Awards with wins for Best Video, Best DVD, and Best High Definition Production, among others.
In May, a softcore version of Pirates received an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America for worldwide distribution.
