Date and Location for 2008 XRCO Awards Announced

HOLLYWOOD — The 24th annual awards show presented by the X-Rated Critics Organization (XRCO) will be held Wednesday, April 30 at The Highlands Nightclub, in the same Hollywood complex as the Kodak Theater, where the Academy Awards take place.

Nearby club Forbidden City served as the interim location last year, following the close of the Century Club, where the XRCO Awards were held for many years prior. But The Highlands Club serves as an appropriate step up as the new home of the event.

"I'm thrilled to be a part of taking the XRCO to the next level," said co-chairman Dirty Bob. "The XRCO began in 1984 and ... while our old location, the Century Club, suited our purpose for many years, it is apparent and obvious that we, and the industry, have outgrown such a venue. This new location is simply awesome and is ideal for our industry-only event."

In addition to the new location, the XRCO also has unveiled a new logo (pictured) designed by Pasadena-based Goliath Graffix. It will serve as the backdrop on the red carpet at the awards show and can be seen along with other Goliath Graffix designs at www.goliathgraffix.com or www.becomeagiant.com.

The 2008 XRCO Awards will be hosted by stars Gina Lynn and Wicked Pictures' Carmen Hart. Said Lynn, "I am very excited about hosting the XRCO Awards. The voting members represent a wide range of critics from print to the internet, and the winners truly reflect the best of the best. I am proud to be co-hosting and thrilled to be standing so close to Carmen Hart all night long."

The XRCO is an independent coalition of professional adult movie critics dedicated to recognizing the best in X-rated cinema each year from the viewpoint of its top reviewers.

The XRCO Awards is open to industry members only, and those wishing to attend must RSVP to XRCO publicist April Strom no later than April 23 at [email protected].
