LOS ANGELES—AVN Hall of Fame director and longtime AVN Awards staple Chi Chi LaRue announced in a video posted Wednesday morning to Facebook that she is en route to a rehab facility in Minnesota. to check herself in for alcoholism.
"I am off to a new journey in my life, and that new journey is a rehab," LaRue said in the video, headed with the comment, "She's giving up the booze." "This is something I've been wanting to do for awhile and all of my friends have been wanting me to do for awhile, and it's finally happening."
This decision, LaRue went on to reveal, was prompted by an intervention friends staged earlier today.
"To all my friends that showed up today for my intervention, thank you," LaRue said. "I love you all very much."
LaRue promised to post updates if possible while attending rehab, and said friends may send mail to the facility.
