WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—Adult starlets Carter Cruise and Vanessa Veracruz join forces this Saturday, September 27, to help oversee a charity event organized to aid a college friend of Cruise's currently battling leukemia.
Dubbed "Turning the Tables on Cancer," the event was put together by another former classmate of Cruise's, Spencer M. Barrick, under the banner of his recently founded non-profit organization the Stay Inspired Foundation. Proceeds will go toward the medical bills of Barrick and Cruise's mutual friend Lena, an aspiring DJ.
In addition to the time they are donating to this event, Cruise and Veracruz have each pledged their winnings to alternate cancer charities should they be crowned the victors in the respective Miss FreeOnes contest categories in which they are current finalists. Cruise is one of the remaining candidates for Best Newcomer in the contest, and if she wins she will donate her $2,000 prize to Summit Up, a charity event for the American Brain Tumor Association thrown annually by Barrick's former fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon. Veracruz is in the running for the Best Adult Model title, and should she win, her $2,000 bounty will go to the Turning the Tables on Cancer cause.
"I would like to commend [Cruise and Veracruz] on their drive and initiative and going out of their way to raise money for causes that they both deeply support," Barrick said. "These two are not only amazing performers in the adult industry, they are also amazing women who should be role models to those in the industry. I hope these two performers' goodwill resonates in the adult industry and gets more girls involved—there is always power in numbers!"
