Cal Vista Unveils AVN Hall of Fame Anthology

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Cal Vista Pictures has set a June 19 street date for Hall of Fame, a new DVD billed as "the ultimate anthology for fans of the greatest superstars of adult video."

Each scene in the collection features an AVN Hall of Fame inductee, including such industry legends as Christy Canyon, Nina Hartley, Jill Kelly, Jeannie Pepper, Felecia, Chloe, Teri Wiegel, Porsche Lynn, Peter North and others.

"We were talking about the Cal Vista library and the fact that people don't realize how much gold that it has after all these years," said Metro's Christian Mann. "We have so many classic scenes with the best of the best performers, and one of the people in our production meeting said, 'That sounds like Hall of Fame stuff.' I said, we should do a Hall of Fame anthology. If it's good enough for AVN, surely there are people who want to see what it is that made these people Hall of Fame inductees."

Combing the hallowed Cal Vista archives, Mann and company selected scenes from James Avalon's Les Vampyres, Babes Illustrated, Friends and Lovers, Ren Savant's Confessions, and others.

"We cross-referenced a list of AVN Hall of Fame inductees with what we had in our library," Mann continued. "From there, Marisela narrowed down the scenes to the ones she thought were the best – they had to be top notch, sexually intense Hall of Fame status scenes with the performers that we thought were sort of fan favorites. Christy Canyon, Nina Hartley, Jill Kelly, Peter North, Teri Weigel...we wanted to make it the crème de la crème – pun intended."

An advance look at the contents shows that Cal Vista succeeded in its mission. The Christy Canyon footage is especially primo. "We didn't want to go back to the early 80s and get that dated look," Mann said. "We wanted the scenes to be a little more sexually intense, as was the case with scenes shot in the '90s and so on."

"We don't consider this a mere compilation – this is an anthology, not just a clumping together of scenes based on something we're going to throw out into the adult bookstore market," Mann said. "They have a reason for being together, and they're carefully selected. It's sort of a reminder to people of what the second golden age of porn was about."
