Cable Documentary Series Features Samson

Vivid Girl Savanna Samson showed her softer side recently when she was featured in the documentary series “Secret Lives of Women.”

“I do the porn thing because I love it,” Samson told the show’s interviewer during the hour-long program airing on cable’s WE network last weekend.

The show features a new theme each week ranging from women suffering eating disorders to plastic surgery addicts who can’t help themselves going under the knife over and over again.

In this episode, Samson’s decided domestic side was a natural for show producers who relished juxtaposing the Vivid Girl’s not-so-glamorous home life with her husband and child to her glossy and well-polished porn persona.

Wearing a sweatshirt and little makeup while relaxing at her upstate, New York home, Samson was at ease discussing her entry into adult entertainment. Having studied ballet as a young girl, Samson told how she was repeatedly rejected as a teenager when she tried joining ballet companies.

“I realized that I didn’t have what it takes to make it on a good (ballet) company,” she said in a poignant moment. “All my dreams as a young girl kind of crumbled to the ground.”

Soon thereafter, she became an exotic dancer in New York nightclubs before eventually heading west and making her hardcore debut in 2000.

The show also examined the life of Vivid's Vice President of Production, Marci Hirsch, who admitted she keeps no porn videos in the house where she and her teenage children live.

In another segment, veteran director Kelly Holland showed off her large, Chatsworth horse ranch, while giving her take on the industry: “You can laugh, but pornography is an art form. It depends on how you do it,” she said.

While the show focused on industry veterans, it also showed a newcomer’s point of view when Tobi Pacific showed her enthusiasm for the business when a director asked about whether she was comfortable with her costar’s size.

Pacific simply smiled and quipped, “The bigger, the better.”
