In the wake of the industry’s most recent HIV crisis, adult star Brittany Andrews and producer Porno Dan have teamed up to raise awareness about HIV transmission prevention methods.
Andrews and Dan host “Content Trade Days” every other month, where photographers, models, and Webmasters shoot content to be shared amongst participants, but their most recent session had an altruistic twist: The shoot featured content designed to raise awareness about HIV prevention techniques.
“This shoot was based upon social awareness of the HIV breakout that just happened,” Andrews told AVNOnline.com. “I want newcomers to the industry to understand that they need to be responsible for keeping themselves safe.”
Andrews and pro-am video shooter Porno Dan hosted a bevy of adult actresses including Michelle Lay, Angelica Sin, Lena Ramone, Maliyah Madison, Kami Andrews, and Jacklyn Lick, at Andrews’ Britco studios. All the action was condom-only, and featured a brand of rubbers endorsed by Andrews and Porno Dan.
Andrews, who’s been performing in adult videos and films since the early ‘90s, is a “condom only” performer, although when she first started, she performed in one non-condom “bareback” scene.
She offers this advice to women entering the adult business: “Take time to think of what you’re comfortable doing and remember you always have a choice to walk out there door,” Andrews said. “Also look at different avenues of making revenue. Look into dancing, or having a Website so you don’t have to take a job just to pay the rent.
“Your life shouldn’t be at risk just so someone can bust a nut.”
