Bobby Slayton to Host Vavoom's 'I Am Smarter Than a Porn Star'

LAS VEGAS — Vavoom TV has recruited comedian Bobby Slayton to host a new game show called "I Am Smarter Than a Porn Star." The show goes into production in the middle of June for a fall 2008 premiere.

"We're thrilled to have Slayton," Vavoom senior vice president Kent Wallace told AVN. "This guy is not only one of the funniest comics in the world, and acknowledged as such, but is a mainstay in Vegas [and] a legitimate movie star. And he's just got such a tongue. Even porn guys and girls don't have that kind of tongue. He's got the sharpest tongue in the industry."

Aside from having hosted the AVN Awards multiple times, Slayton played Joey Bishop in the made-for-cable movie The Rat Pack and has appeared in theatrical releases including Ed Wood, Get Shorty and Dreamgirls.

"The sometimes raucous, always ribald Slayton is the perfect fit for this over-the-top parody game show," said Vavoom CEO Stephen Brown. "Can you imagine pairing Bobby with the likes of Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Sunset Thomas, Nick Manning and Penny Flame? The civilian contestants who go up against that crew for cash, prizes and television stardom are in for the ride of their life. I predict this show will be the most rip-roaring, in your face half-hour in the history of television!"

Said Slayton: "Anything involving porno, comedy and a paycheck makes me perfectly happy!"
