Blanton Leaves NJ Films

Nelson Blanton, the “N” in NJ Films and the company’s co-owner, has left the company to pursue his music career.

In a statement, company co-owner John Knowles said of Blanton’s departure, “As one of the best guitar players I have ever heard or worked with, I enviously wish him the greatest success with his new band Shurman (www.shurmanville.com). His first gig will be Monday the 27th at the Viper Room in Hollywood before they take off on a three-month tour. He will be a full member playing on Shurman’s second record when they record in summertime in Nashville.”

Blanton was unavailable for comment.

Knowles has assumed sole ownership of the company. Asked how that doing that feels, Knowles said, “It’s scary. It’s nice to have someone else to bounce stuff off of but I wish Nelson complete success in everything he does. He would be stupid to pass up this kind of opportunity. He’s so talented.”

NJ Films has been in existence for a little over two years and won its first AVN Award this year for Best Specialty Release — Foot Fetish for Interracial Coxxx & Soxxx 4. The company’s next release Hit Dat Shit 5 will be released on March 7. For more on NJ Films, visit their site at www.njfilmsinc.com.
