Axel Braun, Cast Of Wicked’s ’24 XXX’ Parody Entertain at PSK

BURBANK, Calif.—Porn Star Karaoke, a Tuesday night staple at Sardo’s in Burbank, was the place to be this week as Axel Braun and several cast members of 24 XXX: An Axel Braun Parody from Wicked Pictures were in attendance, entertaining the crowds with trivia, giveaways of the movie and their own karaoke performances. (For the record, Kurt Lockwood does a killer version of the Black Crowes’ Hard to Handle.)

Braun, Lockwood, Riley Steele, Seth Gamble, Alec Knight, Penny Pax, James Bartholet and more chatted with fans, posed for pictures, randomly shouted “Dammit!” and autographed copies of the movie, which was released last month and marks one of the first movies released under the collaboration between Braun and Wicked Pictures. It also marks a reunion of sorts between Braun and Lockwood, the actor told AVN.

“I was in the very first feature film Axel shot back in the early 2000s,” Lockwood said. “He had mentioned to me a while back that he wanted to do 24, but I didn’t hear anything for some time. Then he called me up out of the blue and said, ‘I am doing 24, and you need to be involved in this!’ Of course I said yes.”

Braun told AVN that 24 was one of a long list of movies he wanted to direct that he presented to Wicked Pictures officials at the beginning of the partnership.

“When I heard that the TV show 24 was getting another seasons of 12 episodes, I knew I needed to do this one next,” he said.

While it’s a departure from the superhero-themed parodies that Braun has become known for both in and out of the world of adult, he said the change was needed for him, both professionally and personally.

“I was starting to get bored with the genre, and it was affecting me,” he said. “I needed to recharge myself and my work, and that’s what this is. I definitely have some superhero things lined up for the future, but there are so many other projects coming that I am so excited about!”

In fact, he said, there could be announcements coming very soon about major works he has planned.
