Arrow Takes <i>Deep Throat</i> to the Drive-In

On March 23, Arrow Productions will launch its national 35th Anniversary Deep Throat Tour at one of America's last adult drive-in theaters. The exclusive screening at El Paso's Fiesta Drive-In will feature a brand-new, restored 35mm print of the ground-breaking Linda Lovelace classic.

"I was shocked to hear that there was an operational adult drive-in left in the United States," said Robert Interlandi, marketing director at Arrow. "Once I heard they were still open, I knew the Fiesta Drive-In had be our first stop. We are always happy to support any theatrical outlets for adult films…they are a dying breed today, especially drive-ins.

Arrow will also be bringing its official Deep Throat Corvette and Debbie Does Dallas mechanical bull to the drive-in. A few lucky fans will win a ride on the bull with a sexy Arrow spokesmodel.

"We have a licensing deal with our characters, so they're manufacturing costumes for Debbie, Linda Lovelace, Miss Jones and the Candy Stripers," Interlandi told AVN.com. "At this screening, we'll probably just concentrate on the Linda Lovelace costume since we're showing Deep Throat."

According to Fiesta Drive-In manager Lee, the open-air theater's print of Deep Throat was destroyed after 25 years of continuous play.

"We are excited to offer our customers the opportunity to see Deep Throat once again as it was originally seen, on the big screen," Interlandi said. "The first screening of Deep Throat was in a Texas drive-in about this time 35 years ago. This will be special."

The Fiesta Drive-In is located at 13800 East Montana, El Paso, TX. Arrow's event on March 23 will begin at 6 pm with Deep Throat scheduled to screen at 9:00.

The next stop on Arrow's tour will be St. Petersburg, Florida on March 28. "I already hooked up with West Coast Distributors, and we'll be doing an event at a store called Don't Tell Mama," Interlandi told AVN.com. "They're going to have a live radio feed, and lots of other surprises. The store is located right on the beach, right across the street from all the spring breakers. We'll have the car, the bull, and I also made a Deep Throat beer bong."

AVN.com asked Interlandi about the status of Arrow's Deep Throat beer. "We're still in the developmental stage," he said. "I'm in the middle of private-labeling it. It won't be out for a little while; the first person I went with kind of backed out, so I need to find a new beer company."

Interlandi also revealed to AVN.com that Arrow is working on a restoration of Gerard Damiano's The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue. Details will be announced soon.
