CHATSWORTH, Calif. – April Flores, star of Carlos Batts’ Voluptuous Life from Adam & Eve, drew the winning names in a promotional raffle for adult retail and distribution outlets held yesterday at A&E’s Chatsworth office.
The lucky four were Jackson Supply, Orlando, Fla., Lion’s Den, Columbus, Ohio, Castle Megastore, Tempe, Ariz., and Adult DVD Empire, Pittsburgh. They won poster-size enlargements of original photos of Flores by Batts, a well-known art and fashion photographer, whose movie, on A&E’s Bad Seed label, is his first XXX venture.
The drawing, on the heels of last Friday’s Voluptuous Life party in Hollywood, was the wind-up event in the promotional campaign created by Peter Reynolds, vice-president of sales and marketing, to “soft-launch” the company’s IAC (Independent Adult Cinema) imprint.
Reynolds told AVN that he’s had a “very encouraging response” from distributors and retailers to the offbeat Voluptuous Life, released last week. He feels it bodes well for the outside-the-box IAC line, which gets going with Joanna Angel’s Not Another Porn Movie on Jan. 29.
The next IAC release will be Benny Profane’s Bullets and Burlesque in February, followed by Batts’ Young Hollywood, also featuring Flores, in March. Batts is currently working on a new movie entitled Devour.
Flores, along with the Adam & Eve contract girls, will be signing at A&E’s booth at the Adult Expo, January 9-12. “We’ll be in booth 8001, right up there in the front row,” Reynolds said.
