Andrew Blake Remaking 'Night Trips'

LOS ANGELES – Director Andrew Blake is remaking his AVN award-winning classic Night Trips with exotic Brazilian performer Paola Rey in the role that Tori Welles a star.

"Paola has the beauty and sexuality necessary to portray my initial vision of Night Trips, but updated to 2009," Blake said. "I started a trend back then, giving a lot of companies creative ideas that have continued to this day. In an industry that has left film behind in favor of video production, I started shooting on film and will continue to shoot on film for years to come. Shooting film gives the images a 'one step removed’ quality that can't be duplicated in HD video. Remember that film is the original high-definition medium."

Rey has performed in more than 100 adult movies since she got into the business in 2004. She is excited about the new project and her director.

“This project is ground breaking - a phenomenon," she said. "He is a visionary...an artist. I learned from Andrew that porn is not all about being filthy and nasty, but the subtle ability to turn someone on."

Released by Caballero in 1989, the original Night Trips won AVN's Best Film award and propelled Blake to international fame, thanks to its stylish direction and Welles' smoldering sexual performance. AVN placed the film at the #1 spot in its 2003 retrospective of the 101 greatest adult tapes of all time.

Night Trips 2009 will feature mostly boy/girl scenes similar to the original film. The remake will be released in late November through Blake's company Studio A Entertainment.
