Allie Haze Now a Free Agent

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Leading adult star Allie Haze has for the first time in her career taken booking and all other representation duties for herself into her own hands. Effective June 1, Haze's contract with longtime talent agency LA Direct Models became expired, and she says she opted under mutually amicable terms to begin self-representing moving forward.

"I've been thinking about being a free agent for probably about six months now," Haze told AVN. "I just feel like the business is ever-changing, and you have to learn to adapt to the changes, and I came to the conclusion that nobody was going to represent me better than myself."

She elaborated, "Girls who have established some kind of ground in the business, we make friends quickly, we learn the directors quickly, and sometimes it's a little bit easier to work one-on-one instead of having a third party in between."

Nevertherless, Haze was quick to assert, "I would never suggest that a brand-new girl in the business try and do this without an agent, because I am learning how hard they really do work. It's definitely a lot of hard work, and I was ready to challenge myself, and to me this was my next challenge, trying to see if there was a difference in representing yourself, if there are different opportunities or things like that. But I definitely already miss my agency [laughs]. I am very, very grateful for everything that they've done for me, and we mutually agreed that it was maybe time for both of us to move on—our desires and aspirations for my career in this business were a little bit different. So it was great, actually, it was really awesome. We still talk, I still take bookings from them, and we still will continue to work together in the future."

Haze indicated that she sees this move as a means of taking a more proactive approach to her career. "I still want to be a power player in this business," she said. "I feel like I have a lot of years left and a lot left to give, and I felt that this was the best way to kind of come out and show people that I'm not just sitting around waiting for the phone to ring, I want to be the one making the phone calls and let people know that if you have a project and you need somebody that's going to work hard and give you 110 percent and love every bit about what we do—not for the money, but for the passion of making awesome porno—I'm here."

Part of Haze's game plan for herself now that she's the mistress of her own domain is, as she put it, "I think it's time for me to be a 'bad girl.' I'm ready to show people what I really got. I feel like when I first started in the business, everybody used me for what I was good at, and gosh, I bless them for it 'cause I had a blast doing couples movies and all the parodies, but I want to be challenged sexually. I want to be pushed. I want to explore my body more than I ever have before, and really show people my passion and my love for sex."

She also hinted, "I'd love to start directing, and I'm trying to figure that out. I'm looking to spread my wings in other avenues and try my strength out in other ways. I have lots of scripts. Maybe that's where I go next, is all the skills that I've been able to use in front of the camera with acting and things like that, maybe I can put my skills to use behind the camera and raise up some new blood."

In the meantime, Haze is settling in to her new home in Las Vegas ... and she was sure to point out that, "I'm only a stone's throw away—a four-hour drive is not much—so if the project requires me and it's something that I'm passionate about and want to do, of course I'll be there. I just needed a change, kind of a clean slate thing, just a brand-new start, and I figured Vegas was the next best place to go if I wanted to get up and get out. I've been a Califonia girl my whole life, I've never lived outside the state, so I guess this is my chicken-shit way of saying I lived out of state."
