Adult Factory Outlet Hosts 'Porn Stars for Puppies' Benefit

SYLMAR, Calif.—The Human Society of the U.S. estimates that between 8 and 10 million cats and dogs enter animal shelters each year, roughly half of which end up being put to death (euthanized), while others estimate that for each human birth, seven cats and dogs are born, half of which wind up abandoned on the streets—so supporting animal rescues, especially those run by and affiliated with adult stars, is something the porn community should (and often does) get behind. And on Saturday, Aug. 20, they'll get another chance to do so, and meet some porn stars in the process.

"I've been a dog trainer for 18 years," said Jessie Risinger of the Adult Factory Outlet (AFO) in Sylmar. "I've been working as the store manager for AFO since January, and in this environment, we're just looking for ways to help local businesses. We want to be great friends with our neighbors and we just want to promote ourselves a little more and up the sales, but at the same time, we wanted to do something creative that would tie everything together.

"So I went to the CEO of the company, and I said, 'Look, I know a non-profit organization; she does adoptions; she's a rescue; they take in dogs. They always need help,'" Risinger continued. "So I said, 'Why don't we get the adoption out here, ask the different stars to donate their time to charity; it'll look good on them because they're doing something for charity. It'll look good on us—just everybody involved will look good. We have a DJ coming; local businesses will come and bring people as well. We're letting people set up booths free of charge as long as they cross-promote with us and get the word out. I'm calling all the news stations, all the radio stations, TV stations—I just want it to look good on everybody. I want people to say, wow, look at these stars; they're donating their time for charity, they love animals. I want them to say AFO's doing a good thing for the community, plus we're going to be doing wonderful things, having these dogs go into loving homes.'"

Fortunately, AFO has a giant parking lot in back of its store, and Life4Paws, a prominent animal rescue organization, will be bringing a number of dogs hopefully to meet new owners—and Risinger's hoping that the event will encourage adult performers to come out and promote themselves as well.

"'Come out,' I tell them," she said. "'Have as much press as you want. You can use it to your advantage.' If we have things in our store related to that star—toys or DVDs or what-have-you—of course, we'll push those for them. We're going to give coupons out that day so people can come right in. They can promoted themselves. They're going to act as the celebrities of the event to bring people into the event."

AFO will be supplying a limited number of tables for its guests to use, which will be available on a first come, first served basis, and several local mainstream businesses have already signed on to attend the event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.. But there will be room for every adult entertainer who has an interest in helping abandoned puppies and meeting her (or his) fans.

Already committed to attend are Raging Stallion contract stars Trent Locke and Jesse Santana, and an as-yet-undisclosed Penthouse Pet, and others stars have expressed strong interest in attending.

The event will take place at 12445 Gladstone Ave. in Sylmar, CA 91342, so any performers who'd like to give their time, and reap some career benefits in the process, can call Jessie at (818) 233-1062, or email her at [email protected].
