Adam & Eve, Zero Tolerance Co-Producing Roller Dollz

CHATSWORTH, Calif. - AVN award-winner James Avalon is set to direct Roller Dollz, a co-production between Adam & Eve Pictures and Zero Tolerance. The movie begins shooting March 3.

The cast for the XXX roller derby feature includes Adam & Eve contract girls Ava Rose, Kayden Kross and Bree Olson, Zero Tolerance star Courtney Cummz and Sasha Grey. Also slated to appear are Penny Flame, Teagan Presley and James Deen.

"As far as projects go, this has been one of the most fun to develop," Avalon told AVN. "Adam & Eve actually approached me with the idea, and I went to a few matches. The premise of the movie is there’s a ragtag team in opposition to more of a preppy team that always wins, and they’re just out to beat them. Unlike the dark, moody features I’ve done, this one is just going to be bright and fun."

Olson leads the ragtag team of derby girls with Kross and Rose as her teammates.

"The other team’s going to be headed up by Sunny Lane," said Avalon. "She is going to play the snottiest, meanest girl out there. I actually wrote the part for her as something she hasn’t played before; I couldn’t think of someone further from the role, so it's a real contrast. Courtney and Alektra Blue are on Sunny's team; Alektra is actually a really good skater, so she's another key person who's always needling the other team."

Capitalizing on the trendiness of all-girl roller derby teams such as the L.A. Derby Dolls, the movie will include a derby sequence to be shot on location at a Los Angeles roller rink.

"We’re going to hold an actual match and have some fun with it," Avalon said. "I’m looking for more girls to perform stunts in it who can skate and who don’t mind getting bumped around."

Roller Dollz is tentatively slated for fall release.
