Adam & Eve Pulls Ads from ‘Opie & Anthony’

HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. - Adam & Eve has pulled its advertisements from XM Radio's "Opie & Anthony Show," following the duo's 30-day suspension.

"We support free speech not censorship," explained Adam & Eve Director of Marketing, Chad Davis. "Adam and Eve was built on First Amendment rights. We cannot, in good conscience, ignore the fact that 'Opie & Anthony' were suspended over comments that the FCC has no jurisdiction over."

Numerous other advertisers have joined the company in pulling their commercial spots as well.

"We've received word that thousands of customers have cancelled their subscriptions to XM Radio over this," continued Davis. "It's obvious that America is taking the issue of free speech seriously."

Davis went on to say that Adam & Eve will be back on the air with its normal advertising schedule, effective June 15, when 'Opie & Anthony' return from their suspension.

The radio duo was suspended last week for some disparaging remarks they made about governmental officials. XM is currently trying to merge with Sirius Satellite Radio and it has been speculated that the station penalized the two radio personalities in order to gain favor among lawmakers, who would approve the proposed merger.
