Activists Seek to Orgasm for Peace

Two peace activists say they plan to have a protest for peace. But they say it won’t be the garden-variety kind of protest.

Donna Sheehan, 76, and Paul Reffell, 55, told the San Francisco Examiner that they want everyone in the world to have an orgasm while focusing world peace on Dec. 22.

Reffell says that an orgasm brings on a kind of meditative state, making it ideal for a person to focus their mind peace at the same time.

Sheehan, who is not related to anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, has used sex in her activism in 2002 when she brought together nearly 50 women who stripped naked and spelled out the word “Peace.”

The stunt started a movement she called Baring Witness that led to similar nude demonstrations worldwide.

The couple says they studied evolutionary psychology and believe that war is an outgrowth of men attempting to impress potential mates.

The couple also operates the Web site www.globalorgasm.com.
