ASACP Launches RTA Press Conference Video

LOS ANGELES - The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has released an online video introducing the Restricted to Adults (RTA) labeling system.

Taped at a June 22 press conference during this year's Erotica LA expo, the video includes commentary from ASACP's Joan Irvine, Free Speech Coalition Executive Director Diane Duke, AVN President Paul Fishbein, Wicked Pictures director/performer Stormy Daniels, Xbiz publisher Alec Helmy and attorney Greg Piccionelli.

ASACP designed the RTA filter "to make sure that websites that are intended for adults only are labeled as such," Irvine said. "It is a website label that better enables parental filtering and underscores the adult industry interest in child protection."

The RTA code works with parental filtering software such as NetNanny, iShield and Parental Control Bar to block access to adult websites.

"It's important that we all work together -- the industry, the media -- to allow people to know what's going on," Irvine said. "It's so imkportant that parents are aware of the filtering technology."

According to Irvine, ASACP will will be producing a 'video magazine' version for YouTube and the government.
