With thousands of adult releases every year, it’s pretty damn hard to produce something even remotely original. Coming close is Cabaret Bizarre, the first new release in a while from Britain’s Tanya Hyde, the AVN Award-winning director (Pirate/Private USA’s Hell, Whores and High Heels, Best Foreign Vignette Title of 2000), who is the industry’s standard-bearer in merging genuine fetish with hardcore sex.
As the title indicates, the production takes the form of a cabaret unlike anything Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey ever appeared in. Its seven sex scenes are stylistically shot, some more than others, all with varying degrees of kink-flavored, well-energized sucking, fucking and analyzing set to an impressive house/trance/other soundtrack. There’s even some humor thrown in (this is a cabaret after all).
The showstopper is the most SMBD-oriented, with gorgeous Alicia Rhodes as a Dominatrix clad head to toe in shiny black latex, having her way with three beefy leather studs in dog masks. Set in a stark warehouse/dungeon, the scene is atmospherically shot in beautifully moody black and white and less moody color, and has Rhodes eventually becoming a bottom of sorts in a sling, getting plowed in her pussy and ass, then covered in spunk on various parts of her voluptuous bod.
Few others than Hyde, who is firmly immersed in the London fetish scene (as opposed to so many other porn directors who dabble in fetish without knowing much about it), could execute such a scene. Same goes for the slack-jawed bonus scene, which is set in that same dungeon, and which features another pretty thing blowing, Old Faithful-like, huge, powerful streams of hot soapy water out of her butt.
It all adds up to one of the most distinctive releases of this young year.
