Jimmy II and Dustin Launch FlyntNation.com

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.—Jimmy Flynt II and Dustin Flynt, the nephews of legendary Hustler publisher Larry Flynt, announced today that Flynt Interactive, a division of Flynt Media Corporation, has launched Jimmy and Dustin’s FlyntNation.com, a new website borne out of the ashes of an ongoing lawsuit brought against them by their uncle.

The announcement was made in a press release issued Wednesday by the nephews, who claim the site complies fully with guidelines set forth by the judge in the lawsuit, which awaits a trial date in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

“The lawsuit regarding the use of the Jimmy and Dustin Flynt’s name is still pending in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Jimmy and Dustin made the decision to proceed with the launch of FlyntNation.com using their name within the guidelines set forth by the U.S. District Judge,” the release says.

When reached for further comment, Dustin explained to AVN that there were two main guidelines mandated by judge Howard Matz: one, that the nephews use their “full and actual” names on the site, and two, that there is a disclaimer on the site that clarifies it has nothing to with their uncle.

Both guidelines appear to have been met. The site is clearly named “Jimmy and Dustin Flynt Nation,” and the disclaimer, which runs along the top of the upper navigation bar, reads, “Larry Flynt Is Not Affiliated With This & Does Not Endorse This.”

The nephews are clearly taking no chances with respect to the guidelines, which were stipulated by the judge in the temporary restraining order issued in the lawsuit filed this January.

The elder Flynt filed the suit after the boys announced their intention to start their own production company using the family name, explaining that he was concerned they would tarnish the Flynt franchise by producing lower-quality content that the lawsuit referred to as "inferior products" and "knock-off goods."

"To come into the adult entertainment business and use my name not only confuses people who buy my products, but if they're not maintaining a certain quality, it could also hurt my name," Flynt told the Los Angeles Times at the time.

The nephews countered that they were only trying to break into the family business, saying they saw no reason not to use their own names.

"It's my brother and my turn to be successful in this business," said Dustin. "The fact of the matter is my name is Flynt. If I can't use my name to do business, then what kind of society, what kind of world is that?"

Wednesday, Dustin seeemed unconcerned about the lawsuit and instead expressed his excitement about the fact that the site was live and that he and his brother were finally doing their own thing.

“We’ve got many different projects we’re working on,” he told AVN. “We’re creating innovative, new ways to market and distribute adult products.”

Dustin also told AVN he is currently working on a reality show based on the story of his life, titled Chasing the O. “It’s in development and we’re shooting it as we speak,” he said.

When asked which network the show would air on, Dustin said he did not want to “let the cat out of the bag just yet, but when I have clearance, I will,” adding that it would probably be ready for release in a matter of months.

A call to Hustler seeking comment on the launch of FlyntNation.com was not returned by post time.
