GoDaddy Sites Go Dark for Several Hours

CYBERSPACE - CNET reported GoDaddy.com suffered a denial-of-service outage Wednesday morning, causing thousands of the web sites it hosts to go offline for several hours.

Communications Manager Nick Fuller told CNET that email and DNS services were not interrupted.

GoDaddy would not state how many sites were affected, due to "security reasons."

A similar incident knocked out some 600,000 GoDaddy customers in November 2005 for about an hour.
