Adult Industry Vet Desi Benjamin Injured in Car Accident

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - Adult industry veteran Desi Benjamin is in the Intensive Care Unit at Northridge Hospital following a car accident last week.

The owner of Subculture Multimedia and numerous adult websites including the Bada Bucks affiliate program was driving in the Chatsworth area Monday on the way back to his home in West Hills when he was struck by another vehicle at an intersection.

Benjamin's Chrysler 300 was totaled and he was rushed to the hospital.

"It's very serious, but he's stable," longtime friend Adam Grayson of SearchExtreme told AVN Online.

Benjamin suffered severe head trauma and chest injuries which affected his breathing. He's been unconscious for nearly a week.

"It's tough, he's one of my best friends," Grayson said.  "His family wanted to make sure his friends in the adult business knew where he was."

Visitors at the hospital are currently restricted to family and close friends.

Benjamin came to the adult industry about a decade ago, after years spent mining the Sunset Strip hair-metal scene as an A&R rep for Capitol-EMI Records.  He started in adult running official sites for female stars such as Jasmin St. Claire and Tiffany Mynx, and has owned several well-known location houses in the west San Fernando Valley for the past six years.

Friends and family are currently sorting out business dealings while Benjamin is hospitalized, Grayson said.
