ANE Finishes Another Successful Run

LAS VEGAS—The AVN Novelty Expo ended Wednesday after yet another successful three-day run. This time, after co-locating with the International Lingerie Show at the Rio Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, exhibitors new and old were happy to show off their goods.

After debuting the new Valkyrie line of feminine harnesses for strap-ons at ILS in the spring, Liberator has made some adjustments to make the line even better, Vice President of Sales and Business Development Jay Scheinberg said.

"The harnesses now comes with adjustable sizing, so users can get a better, more custom fit," he said. "And there is now an additional layer of Spandex in the harness area so it offers more support."

Additionally, the company also showcased the new Red and Silver version of the Flip Hole from Tenga. The Black version has a more rigid texture inside, which gives more resistance and friction, while the Silver version is perfect for more sensitive users, Scheinberg said.

Also from Liberator is the new Arch Wedge, which has a contour in the higher end that allows partners to get even closer, and is perfect for couples looking for easier ways to engage in the 69 position.

Scott Rinaldo of RealTouch was on the show floor, talking with buyers about the device and its upgrades. Now a trade show veteran, Rinaldo also went over the newest addition to the product line, the RealTouch Interactive, which is a specially designed joystick that relies on capacitive sensing technology to "sense" anything a live model does to it and then transmit that information to a RealTouch device.

Another trade show veteran company was Creamright Products, where rep Anthony explained that the company's whipped cream chargers and dispensers are a better fit for adult boutiques than most might realize.

"They can make a great toy in the bedroom, because you can control what sweeteners you use instead of sugar, and add flavoring or coloring to make it more interesting," he said. "And the real beauty is it can go from the bedroom straight to the kitchen."

Dr. Ken Issa of Pure Vitamins said his companies carries a variety of male enhancement parades, which he noted has seen a major increase in sales in recent years.

"There is a lot of competition in this part of the industry now, but retailers need to be aware that there are knock off products from China out there that might be cheaper but will cause more problems. The quality product is made in the USA."

Keith Gordon of Joyful Pleasures said the company has been around for two years and offers European designs in premium glass toys. The molded glass pieces come in packaging that offers a picture of the item on the side and a cut-out window on the front so customers can see the designs and colors.

"We mostly deal direct to retailers, and we try to come out with new designs every six months," he said.

Lyon Glass was also on hand, debuting the hand-blown pieces that ranged from beverage glass collection to glass pipes to glass dildos that can be custom ordered and engraved, explained company rep Ross Anderson.

"We speciliaze in high-end glassware that is made in the USA," he said. "Anything your heart desires, if it can be made of glass, we can make it for special orders."

Icon Brands' Vice President of Sales Joanie Lee said the company's underwear line was drawing a lot of attention from buyers and attendees during the show. Product Development Chief Rebecca Weinberg said the company's new Roman Heart double-ended stroker was also garnering plenty of attention, as was the Nip Suck, which is Icon Brands' best seller.

one of the most talked about debut items was the Marcus London Time To Squirt Watch. Developer Aaron Headley, who is also the president and CEO of Orgasmic Research, is a science engineer who studied the technique used by adult performer Marcus London to consistently get women to squirt during orgasm. By measuring the force and frequency Marcus London used, Headley was also to create a watch that lights up when wearers are using what he calls the "I love you" hand position and applying enough G- force and speed to make a woman ejaculate.

"I spent six years working on the concept, and had some wild designs," he said. "It turns out I should have been thinking inside the box, because that's when the idea came to me to solve all the problems I was having."

He noted he already is working on a new version that will function as a real watch and operate in what he calls a stealth mode. The Time to Squirt Watch comes with an instructional DVD featuring Marcus London.

Greg DeLong, creator of njoy, has long been an exhibitor at ANE, and said he still gets plenty of attention from buyers and retailers.

"It's sometimes all we can do to keep up with the orders," he said.

All of njoy's items are hand crafted, he said, and the steel items are specifically designed for anal play.

New exhibitor Lover Longer debuted their two beds, the Luvbed Deluxe and the Luvmaker Deluxe, in addition to the Vibratormate.

"These are quality handcrafted furniture pieces that are made for passion," explained Thomas Mills, manager of sales. adding that they are custom-made massage tables with extra padding to allow for more intimate encounters, especially for couples with physical ailments that need assistance for better sex.

The base is the same for both pieces, and the pedestals are interchangeable. Also removable is the Vibratormate, which features a flat base and a adjustable arm with industrial strength Velcro strips that hold any size and style of vibrator in place for hands-free use.
