CANOGA PARK, Calif.—The following are the job requirements which the Board of the Free Speech Coalition have released in their search for a successor to the organization's current CEO, Diane Duke, who will be leaving FSC early in 2016:

Position Title: Executive Director

Reports to: Board of Directors

Organization Overview
The Free Speech Coalition is the trade association of the adult entertainment community. It is a leading civil liberty advocacy organization. FSC has co-sponsored with a leading university the World Pornography Conference and was the prevailing party in Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition, 535 U.S. 234 (2002), one of the most important free expression cases in decades.

Our mission is to lead, protect and support the growth and well-being of the adult entertainment community.

 As the trade association for the adult entertainment community, we do this by:
• Being the legislative watchdog for the industry
• Lobbying
• Public education and communication
• Member education and communication
• As a last resort, litigation

Position Overview
This full-time position, under the direction of the Board of Directors (BOD), serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Free Speech Coalition, Inc. (FSC) and has overall responsibility for all facets of the organization.

Essential Job Functions
• Provides support & coordination to the BOD
• Coordinates the development of organization’s strategic plan
• Develops and monitors organization’s annual budget
• Provides oversight of staff and contractors to implement the operating plan
• Assures the maintenance of all legally required business records, permit, insurance, etc
• Provides oversight of human resources (personnel) policies, procures, and supervision of all staff
• Provides oversight of Legislative Affairs activities including international, federal, and state alliance building, lobbying, legislative tracking, chapter development, state and local level consulting, and community mobilization.
• Provides oversight of litigation process, policies and implementation thereof
• Provides regular communication to the Board and membership on FSC related issues
• Represents the FSC to major stakeholders, government agencies, industry, media and the public.
• Responds to new information or changes in the environment in which the organization operates to best serve the mission, vision, and interests of the organization.
• Oversees organizations infrastructure including but not limited to IT, systems development and analysis, facilities and equipment
Other responsibilities as directed by the Board

Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years experience in non-profit sector, at least five of which have been in administration and management or an advanced management degree and three years of non-profit management experience
• Ability to communicate (in writing, email, IM, in person, and public speaking)
• Budgeting, fundraising and direct solicitation experience
• Strategic planning and evaluation experience
• Public policy and political research and development skills
• Experience working with Boards of Directors
• Commitment to First Amendment principles.
