Tennessee Trooper Avoids Jail Time in Porn Star Scandal

LEBANON, Tenn. – Former Tennessee state trooper James Randy has accepted a plea deal to avoid jail time on charges related to his on-duty tryst with porn star Barbie Cummings. Moss will spend time on probation as part of the agreement with prosecutors.

Moss, 40, received oral sex from Cummings after he pulled her over for speeding on May 7. Cummings then wrote a graphic description of the encounter in her blog, claiming that Moss threw away prescription painkillers found in her car, watched porn videos from her website with her in his patrol car, and then videotaped the liaison. Meanwhile, Moss boasted about the incident to co-workers.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol fired Moss in May, giving him the option of a hearing before he was officially dismissed. Moss was later allowed to resign, because earlier in the day, he had sent a letter of resignation, though officials said that they didn't know about the letter until after they had served Moss his notice.

According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Cummings is now pregnant and has left the adult industry. Moss’ lawyer told the News Sentinel that the former trooper is now doing construction work and trying to put the scandal behind him.
