LAS VEGAS, NV—Infamous pirate site, Site Rip King, is no more. Acting on a tip and fact research from colleagues at Porn Guardian, Corbin Fisher's legal team investigated the website and discovered that it contained a complete, unauthorized duplicate of the Corbin Fisher website.
The investigation led to discovery that the site also contained complete rips of other popular gay content websites available at SiteRipKing.com. They included such sites as Sean Cody, Bel Ami, Chaos Men, Cody Cummings, Falcon Studios, Next Door Buddies, Kink.com and Straight Guys For Gay Eyes.
"We have zero tolerance for piracy of any kind,” said Corbin Fisher COO, Brian Dunlap. “Obviously, something this big was piracy on a huge scale and we had to do something about it."
Corbin Fisher's General Counsel, Marc J. Randazza, filed a complaint in Federal Court in Colorado. While the owner of the site listed a fake address in the website's Whois information, Randazza filed a motion for early discovery, a procedure giving the plaintiff the right to take discovery before the defendant is served.
"This is how you expose someone who thinks that the internet provides anonymity," said Randazza. "This case has had a great result so far, but you can't get there without great evidence. Porn Guardian gave us what we needed."
The Colorado court granted the motion, giving Corbin Fisher the right to seek information about the owner of Site Rip King. Within minutes of the order being issued, the Site Rip King decided to abdicate his throne and shut down the website.
"The entire industry owes its thanks to Corbin Fisher for leading the charge against Site Rip King and his particularly insidious practice of stripping and publishing entire libraries of content and charging HIS members to view the work he stole from others," said Peter Phinney from Porn Guardian.
