Performer Tyler White Passes Away

LOS ANGELES—Gay porn performer Tyler White has passed away, veteran producer Shannon Prewitt confirmed Tuesday.

Prewitt, a producer for Broke Straight Boys and the chief operating officer for the site's parent company, Blu Media, said Prewitt died on June 4 at his home in the northeastern part of the U.S. He was 25.

“It's something we’re pretty sad about because he was a wonderful person,” Prewitt told AVN, adding that memorial services are scheduled for Wednesday. “Some people have true illnesses that they just can’t seem to get away from. Unfortunately, it just got the best of him.”

White got his start with BrokeStraightBoys.com in early 2014, performing in more than 20 scenes for the site over the course of about a year. The up-and-coming performer also toured the country with BrokeStraightBoys for a series of Pride events.

“He and I got really close,” Prewitt said. “He was one of my main tour people. He was a good guy. Unfortunately, he had some demons.”

Prewitt said White had not been active with his site for years, but he did perform occasionally for others.

“Our members are certainly heartbroken," Prewitt said. "They do feel like they get to know the guys. I definitely saw something in him, but we had to part ways.”

In an interview that was posted on the BrokeStraightBoys YouTube channel not long after White’s debut in 2014, White said he grew up 20 miles from Boston, used to attend Red Sox games and was a big fan of the Celtics.

He also said he wrestled in high school and enjoyed skateboarding and snowboarding in his hometown. White had a tattoo of his favorite animal—an owl—on his left arm, among other ink.
