The Pride of Channel 1 Releasing

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif.—With Los Angeles’ annual Pride festivities scheduled to begin this weekend, Chi Chi LaRue and the boys of Channel 1 Releasing can barely contain themselves. Because C1R is an L.A.-based studio, the local Pride festival is a big event for them every year.

On Saturday night, GAYVN Hall of Fame director and drag queen extraordinaire LaRue will DJ the annual pride party at Here Lounge (696 N. Robertson Blvd., West Hollywood). The party’s dance hours have been extended this year: 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. C1R starts Benjamin Bradley and Roman Heart are expected to perform on stage, and LaRue said other performers may pop in as well.

The Here Lounge party “is matched only by Chi Chi’s Halloween bash as the busiest party of the year at the venue. This year, like every year past, will see the club at capacity,” C1R publicist Jason Sechrest predicted.

On Sunday morning, C1R will man a float during West Hollywood’s gay pride parade. Sponsored by the gay adult boutique Chi Chi LaRue’s, C1R favorites Jimmy Durano, Drew Cutler, Jason Pitt, Jason Longh, Rod Daily Tyler Saint and Cameron Adams—plus C1R co-founder and director Doug Jeffries—are expected to entertain crowds along the route with their notorious antics.

LaRue has been tapped to take part in Pride activities across North America during the summer. Seattle, San Francisco and Toronto are three of her top destinations, and other cities are added to the list frequently. Check ClubChannel1.com for the most current schedule.
