CHICAGO – In a surprise upset during the 18th Annual Grabby Adult Erotic Video Awards Saturday, the gay adult movie that swept every other award show this year lost top honors to another title from the same studio.
Raging Stallion Studios’ The Drifter took Best Movie, running away with some of the accolades expected to go to Raging Stallion’s blockbuster gay western, To the Last Man. The latter did not leave empty handed, though, snagging four Grabbys compared to The Drifter’s five.
Also during the festivities, Hot House Entertainment chief Steven Scarborough was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award, and Steve Jerome, Troy Prickett, Robert Van Damme and Spike were added to the Wall of Fame.
The gala awards ceremony was part of a weekend of events that annually brings together the Grabbys, the International Mr. Leather competition and Bear Pride. Many of the events benefitted Test Positive Aware Network, which raises money for HIV testing and education.
