On the Set of Jamie Hendrix Productions' 'Friendly Force'

A modest mansion in the Hollywood Hills is alive with naked youths getting made up, and clothed men setting up lights.

"It is a comeback, but I feel I've never been away," says blond, quietly brash producer-writer-director Jamie Hendrix, returning to porn after eight years of mainstream movies and gay travel videos. "Each mainstream movie takes a year of your life. The porn pace is faster and the money immediate. Friendly Force (the ‘force' is policemen, and they're friendly) has a story, which is unusual nowadays. It falls within the same genre as most of the adult movies I acted in and directed - twink jocks!"

Today's three "twink jocks" for Friendly Force come from all over.

This is the first "real" movie for bright-eyed Roswellian Chad Clovis (pictured), who has a degree as a P.E. teacher. He's done website solos for Hornyboy.com in Phoenix, where he's still studying for a master's degree in business. His manager, Heinz Obereder (BadBoysMultimedia.com), recommended him for features. Chad explains, "I want to try to take as much advantage of this as I can while I'm young, and then have something to fall back on." As he leaves to watch porn and work himself up, someone says, "He seems to have a lot upstairs." Photographer John Andruska replies, "I don't know. I was looking at all he has downstairs."

This is the "25th or so" movie for tall, beautiful Logan Robbins. He joined the Navy "to get out of a small Virginia town." In San Diego, he found he was making more by parking cars than the service paid him, so he didn't mind it when a DUI incident resulted in a discharge. A series of job changes left him sleeping in his 2000 Eclipse, so he accepted work doing solos for Straight College Men, then for SoCal Media, where he also worked recruiting, interviewing and shooting models. Then agent Howard Marr asked him, "How much would it take to get you to fuck a man?" Logan replied, "How much would it get me?" When he learned how much, he said, "That'll work," and has since appeared for Falcon, Titan and Jet Set Men among others.

Ohio's crop-haired, petite Corbin Michaels made over 25 features between 2003 and 2007, becoming a bit of a star and a thorough, respected professional. He has a head on his wide shoulders; his favorite director was Jett Blakk, because "He's such a nice person." Corbin's at Los Angeles Valley College studying "finance, because I like math," and says it felt very good, when he needed some money, to be able to look on Craigslist, make a call and get work because of his good record. "People do come up to me and ask for autographs. More often, because I've cut my hair, they look at me in restaurants wondering, ‘Who is that? I know him.'"

Hendrix's modeling experience tops that of any of his stars. He did "over 30 movies" as a performer, and after just a few, found himself directing, then producing, mentored by such greats as Matt Sterling and John Travis, and inspired by directors like Kristen Bjorn and Jean-Daniel Cadinot. His directing resume includes over 100 titles from 1988 to 2001. After leaving "church-going Chesapeake Bay, Maryland" to act in Los Angeles, he appeared in a role on St. Elsewhere and some music videos, but "the acting thing ran out." He sold copiers and did telemarketing ("That was rock bottom!"), then saw an ad in L.A.'s gay paper, Frontiers, and applied for porn. "I used to take Polaroids of myself naked back home," he says. "I'd always loved porn and my own body."

He didn't go over at first, because of shyness, but heeded a producer's advice to "try escorting, to break the ice." Indeed, it did. He found that "having sex for reasons other than romantic passion, and doing things someone else wanted me to do, prepared me for the camera."

Two co-workers today have been with him for years. Shooting a "making of" video, Eli Giorgio, Hendrix's personal partner of 12 years, was a grip on Power Driver in 1994. Hendrix laughs, "Even though he's executive producer now, he's still being a grip!" Still photographer/cosmetician Jackson Ford confides, "I made Jamie up for his first movie, Object of Desire, at Catalina, in 1988. He was shook!"

Clovis and Robbins appear, suddenly more "jock" than twink in dark police uniforms with mask-like sunglasses. It's time for Jamie Hendrix, shook no more, to return for real to directing story-porn!
