Mickey’s Quickies | Masi Takes to the Stage, Phoenix Reappears, Gage Flashes

COLT Studio Group exclusive Carlo Masi has been cast in a European stage project for the Teatri di Vita theater company in Italy. Masi, who just hit his fifth year in the adult business, is breaking out in the company’s Senzaparole (“Without Words”). The script was inspired by a Samuel Beckett opera. In addition to Italy, the show is scheduled for performances in Slovenia.

Even if he never speaks again, most people wouldn’t mind watching Masi on stage doing nothing.

Longtime favorite Dean Phoenix is back in front of the camera for a scene with Dyan McLovin. The scene will appear on Jet Set Men’s Straight Edge website. The setup: Phoenix approaches McLovin in a locker room. McLovin drops to his knees to suck off Phoenix, who then fucks the twink. The scene becomes a flip-flop, with Phoenix performing a powerful—and rare—bottoming.

Joe Gage’s supposedly PG, YouTube-safe trailer of the latest Ray Dragon movie, Dad Takes a Fishing Trip, was taken down off You Tube because it violated “community standards,” Gage said. Apparently someone found objectionable two flashes of full-frontal in the older-younger gay sex story. Allen Silver, Josh West, Andrew Justice, Chad Brock, Dane Hyde and a few others star.

Unzipped Magazine revealed some interesting news about Sarah Palin’s almost-son-in-law Levi Johnston this week, just as Johnston’s Playgirl magazine spread was revealed. The Unzipped editor said even while Johnston was making the rounds with the McCain campaign during the 2008 presidential election, he said he would pose nude if the price were right.

Reportedly, that’s when Unzipped offered Johnston a substantial sum to pose nude for what the publisher claims is the world’s largest-circulation gay male special-interest journal. Johnston turned down the offer but agreed to pose for Playgirl, thinking the latter is aimed at women. In reality, Playgirl’s readership is as gay as Unzipped’s.

My question is: How much will this über-narcissist ask to perform in gay porn?

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert stretched some bisexual boundaries when he kissed a guy, feigned oral sex and kicked women around during the closing act of the televised American Music Awards last week. The bawdy, sadomasochistic performance was so controversial it was censored on the West Coast when it was rebroadcast, leading Lambert to claim discrimination because he didn’t do anything beyond what Madonna and other female performers have done on stage and TV.

It was a bit of a gay porn surprise when mainstream actor Stephen Geoffreys—who appeared in 1980s B movies like Fright Night and Fraternity Vacation—turned to a porn career and performed as Sam Ritter. Now, there’s a remake of Fright Night in the works. Porn reviewer and former GAYVN Awards judge J.C. Adams recently wondered aloud whether the producers will ask 45-year-old Geoffreys to reprise his role as Evil Ed Thompson.

A few more quickies:

  • How nice that Badpuppy is going to help those of us who can’t make it to Fort Lauderdale to see the Visconti Triplets and Chi Chi LaRue this weekend. Watch their performances live online at BoardwalkBarXXX.com, powered by Badpuppy.
  • Over the Thanksgiving holiday, COLT Studio Group will head south to Puerto Vallarta to sponsor the Latin Fever Black Party. The event at Club Zenit will include Oscar Velazquez and Paul Goodyear.
Unzipped magazine is going after the notorious cyberstalker/gadfly/pseudo-agent/faux insider Damon Kruezer (real name: Kent Barclay), who reportedly has created a website for a new movie he’s supposedly casting and producing. Already Kruezer is saying Brad’s Buddies 2 will “sweep the GAYVN Awards.” Of course, when it doesn’t he will blame the omission on politics, even though no one has seen an inch of footage to date.
