NEW YORK - On Friday, the best gay escorts in the world - as determined by fan voting - will be revealed in a gala awards ceremony in New York City as RentBoy.com's 3rd Annual International Escort Awards takes over Splash Bar.
Perhaps better known to the public as "The Hookies," the awards are presented in 15 categories honoring the world's oldest profession as presented in the newest media. This year's ceremony will be hosted by drag artist and local celebrity Shequida. Scheduled special guests include Jonny McGovern of Logo television's "Big Gay Sketch Show," award-winning gay adult director and performer Michael Lucas and porno gadfly Jason Sechrest of JasonCurious.com.
Well-known nominees this year include Nick Capra, Diesel Washington, Francois Sagat, Arpad Micklos and Ryan Raz.
For the first time, the ceremony will be open to the general public free of charge, as long as the public arrives by 10 p.m.
Doors open at 8 p.m. for red-carpet interviews and happy hour. The awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. After the show, an evening of gay adult entertainment will continue with dancing to the spins of DJ Brett Henrichsen.
