"When we first began, we were using point-to-point technology, which really meant that it was one modem communicating with another modem. So the consumer had to download client software in order to be able to facilitate a session," he says. "Around 1998, video streaming straight through the browser became technologically feasible, and we were one of the first companies to embrace it to the end user."
The site offers group chat, a softcore nude chat environment with multiple users allowed access to the room for a per-minute fee; and private shows that allow more intimate communication. Flirt4Free also offers feature shows with many of the industry's top stars who appear together.
"Many consumers can chat amongst themselves as well as with the models," Clayman says. "It turns out to be a truly interactive experience. The consumers direct the show. That's what makes it so cool. As for the future, VideoSecrets is exploring the penetration of new markets and trying to perfect technology that will allow live chats on televisions in hotel rooms and living rooms. Perhaps most exciting for Clayman is the company's impending leap into mobile multimedia, which he projects will happen within the next few months.
Tsiamis adds that expanding relationships into new areas is a natural evolution for the company. "We've branded our name very strongly over the years. We've also co-branded with some of the biggest, strongest names in the business. Our future plans won't change our core business, they'll just add new dimensions," he says. "We're in this to challenge ourselves. We're going to continue to grow.”
