Bear Omnimedia Acquires Brush Creek Media

LAS VEGAS - Bear Omnimedia, producer of the Butch Bear, Backroom Films and Bear lines, has acquired all of Brush Creek Media's assets and plans to repackage and re-release on DVD the best of Brush Creek's bear classics.

The first three films on deck for re-release star bear icon Jack Radcliffe: Palm Springs Vacation, Leather Bears at Play and Big Bear Trucking Co.

"We're very excited to be releasing these classics on the Bear label, since they've not been previously available on DVD," said Bear Omnimedia chief executive officer Steven Wolfe. "These videos also helped lead the way to greater hyper-masculine acceptance in the gay mainstream market."

In response to the growing hyper-masculine market, Bear Omnimedia also plans to revive Bear magazine, which began publication in 1984 and ceased in 2002.

"With a new publisher and a new look, we now present Bear as a periodic magazine that provides thousands of men with images and the up-to-date lifestyle options they want most, that don't go out of style," said creative director Teddy Mark.

The new Bear will premiere in September as a free publication available at adult retailers, gay bars and gay events in the U.S. In addition, it will be mailed to Bear Omnimedia customers worldwide. Future issues will be quarterly and available at bookstores and by subscription.
