Reviews

A clever "look behind the scenes of the sex industry," anchored by George Kaplan as Harlan Harkelstein, author of I'm Okay, You Screw For Cash. (Pun no doubt intended.) Behind the scenes footage of this and other productions mixes with staged interview footage, and writer/director Markman spares no one, not even himself. He is seen pontificating about how in his movies, sex is a metaphor for life, followed by Alec Metro telling Nina Ferrari, "He takes this stuff so seriously." Markman later leaves in mid-shoot to go get drunk with Harkelstein. Performers deliver their scripted lines quite well, plus there is a hilarious sequence where Alec Metro and Nina Ferrari deliver each other's lines.

Five sex scenes, two with the seldom-seen-anymore Nikki Fairchild, are inter-cut into the mockumentary. Markman may be playing to the band in the set-ups, but the sex delivers the requisite heat.
