VENICE, Calif.—As the world gears up for Thanksgiving, it’s a good time to take a look at the outstanding output for 2013 from award-winning director Dana Vespoli’s. With so much great product this year, fans may need extra time to express their thanks for so many titles.
Vespoli consistently releases some of the most diverse and thought-provoking adult material in the industry, but no matter what type of content she is producing, Dana is always pushing the envelope sexually and psychologically.
One of her most important releases of the year has been Girl/Boy, which challenged viewers to examine their ideas about gender identity, how we self identify and how this relates to our sexuality and sex lives.
Even working within modest budgets, all of Dana’s movies are professionally produced, and each of her features for Evil Angel has been selected for Editor’s Choice review, an amazing run that may be unprecedented.
Her features for 2013 have been Forsaken, Descent and She's Come Undone. Her vignette features have also been well-received, especially Fluid and Girl/Boy.
“I really encourage audiences to be active rather than passive consumers of my product,” Dana said. “I think my features have proven that porn can be thoughtful as well as dirty.”
